The boy with a mask and wings is from the  Vee Speers series "The Birthday Party". The Australian photographer Vee Speers has portrayed a number of children at an imaginary birthday party. These poetic images have been shot at eye level, thereby drawing the viewers into the children's world - a world that evokes conflicting feelings somewhere between fantasy and reality.
